Sam Magalnik

Director - Asset Management

My Story

Sam joins RAM with over eight years of experience in asset management, specializing in U.S. multifamily real estate. He has managed large, complex apartment portfolios on behalf of institutional and sophisticated ownership groups in Canada, where he was responsible for executing strategic business plans, optimizing asset performance, and driving long-term value. Sam played a key role in delivering detailed financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing insights that informed investment decisions and supported ownership objectives across the portfolio.

Throughout his career, Sam has led end-to-end budgeting and financial reporting processes, overseen multimillion-dollar capital improvement projects, and implemented targeted revenue management strategies. He has successfully rolled out key initiatives aimed at maximizing rental income, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing resident satisfaction. In addition, Sam has leveraged property technology platforms and business intelligence tools to streamline reporting, monitor KPIs in real time, and support data-driven decision making across his portfolios. He brings a strong track record of aligning operational execution with ownership goals and consistently delivering measurable results.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and an MBA with a specialization in Real Estate and Infrastructure from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing hockey and golf, and is a passionate Calgary Flames fan.
